A “boot-leg” under-barrel percussion pistol, ca. 1850, with octagonal to round 16cm barrel signed “*BENTLEY PERKS* LIVERPOOL”, with bowie-shaped blade fitted underneath. This setup was probably inspired by the Morril, Mossman and Blair Elgin cutlass pistol. The blade can be detached by loosening two screws at the rear mount. Smooth cal .45 bore. Two-part walnut grip. Length overall 40cm. The holster features a brass plate engraved with an anchor and “*CSN*” (Confederate States Navy?).
